4 External Services

On our website, we use various services from third-party providers. Below, we detail the specific services used, their purposes, and the data collected.

The integration of external services can be sensitive according to current European jurisprudence. The transfer of personal data to external providers (e.g., Analytics, Advertising, CDN, Fonts, Videos, etc.) should be analyzed on a case-by-case basis.

4.1 Google Analytics 4

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. The responsible entity for users in the EU/EEA and Switzerland is Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”).

Nature and Purpose of Processing

Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze your use of our websites. The information collected via cookies about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

In Google Analytics 4, IP address anonymization is enabled by default. Due to IP anonymization, your IP address is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. According to Google, the IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

During your website visit, your user behavior is recorded in the form of “events.” Events may include:

Page views

First visit to the website

Start of the session

Visited pages

Your “click path,” interaction with the website

Scrolls (whenever a user scrolls to the end of the page (90%))

Clicks on external links

Internal search queries

Interaction with videos

File downloads

Viewed/clicked ads

Language setting

Additionally, the following is recorded:

Your approximate location (region)

Date and time of visit

Your IP address (in truncated form)

Technical information about your browser and the devices you use (e.g., language setting, screen resolution)

Your internet service provider

Referrer URL (which website/advertisement led you to this website)

Purposes of Processing

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your pseudonymous use of the website and to compile reports on website activity. The reports provided by Google Analytics are used to analyze the performance of our website and the success of our marketing campaigns.

Recipients

Recipients of the data may include:

Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (as a data processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR)

Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA

Alphabet Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA

Transfer to Third Countries

For the USA, the European Commission adopted its adequacy decision on July 10, 2023. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield framework. Since Google servers are distributed worldwide and transmission to third countries (e.g., Singapore) cannot be completely ruled out, we have also concluded EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the provider.

Storage Duration

The data sent by us and linked with cookies is automatically deleted after 14 months. The maximum lifespan of Google Analytics cookies is 2 years. Data that has reached the end of its retention period is automatically deleted once a month.

Legal Basis

The legal basis for this data processing is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 s. 1 TTDSG.

Revocation

You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by accessing the cookie settings (bottom left on the page) and changing your selection there. The lawfulness of processing based on consent until revocation is not affected. You can also prevent the storage of cookies from the outset by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly. However, if you configure your browser to reject all cookies, this may result in restrictions on functionality on this and other websites. You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website by:

  1. Not giving your consent to the setting of the cookie,
  2. or Downloading and installing the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics HERE: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

On our website you will find links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content and privacy measures on external websites that you can access via the links. Please inform yourself about the privacy policy directly on the respective websites.

6 Passing on data to third parties

So that we can offer you the information on our website, we work with various service providers, namely IT service providers, to be able to offer you a contemporary website. These service providers only use your data within the scope of order processing for us.

With the exception of the provisions in section 3.4 of this privacy policy, we only transfer data to entities outside of Switzerland and the European Union (third country) without your consent if this is required by the respective contract, to fulfill legal obligations, or to protect our legitimate interests.

7 Your rights

As provided by the applicable data protection law, you can request information free of charge about the data stored about you, their origin and recipients, and the purpose of data processing. Under the legal conditions, you also have the right to correction, deletion, restriction of or objection to processing, and, if the GDPR applies, to receive this data for transfer to another location.

You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. A informal notification by email to us is sufficient for this purpose.

Please note that the aforementioned rights are subject to legal restrictions and may affect or even prevent the provision of our services.

You are entitled to enforce your claims in court or to file a complaint with the competent data protection authority. The Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner is responsible for Switzerland (http://www.edoeb.admin.ch).
